About Dr. Maya Elyashkevich, Los Angeles Clinical Psychologist Specializing in Anxiety and Depression

I’m a Los Angeles Licensed Psychologist practicing in Encino, focusing on the treatment of anxiety and depression.  I am trained in psychodynamic therapy, as well as EMDR, which means that I use proven research-based methods that teach you tools for overcoming anxiety and depression starting from the very first session.

I am passionate about helping you feel at peace once again and having the confidence to accomplish your goals.  You can learn to be more assertive, worry less and enjoy your life.  You can create supportive relationships in your life and break the destructive patterns of anxiety and depression.

What can you expect from therapy with a Clinical Psychologist who specializes in anxiety and panic?

Here are some examples of outcomes that my clients get (all names have been changed to protect confidentiality):

When Miriam started her treatment, she cried most of the day, every day. She isolated herself from her friends and family due to feelings of guilt and shame. She was unemployed and was unable to take any action toward finding a new job and was spending most of her days ruminating on negative thoughts.  After her therapy was complete, Miriam felt better; she no longer experienced overwhelming sadness, low self-esteem or excessive guilt.  She renewed her social contacts with family and friends, updated her resume and was actively interviewing for a new job.  She felt energized about her life and felt enthusiastic restarting her career.

When Chad started his therapy with me, he worried every day, most of the day.  He often experienced stomach aches and even nausea due to having constant negative thoughts about what others thought of him,  due to feeling criticized by others. Chad had difficulty communicating his needs to his partner due to the fear of being judged negatively, causing tension in his relationship.  His friendships and family relations were strained for similar reasons.  At the end of his treatment, Chad gained the confidence and self-esteem to communicate his needs in his relationships.  He also felt at peace with himself and the choices he have made in his life.
